Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign
This comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm within the fandom. From the one-by-one unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming strong opinions on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive designs that emphasize their traits, one thought naturally: How can link this with astrology? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why Aries far more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a powerful ally; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed love of treats. Several past Pokédex entries mention their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an constant stream of chatter to those who wish to hear. Just like an captivating, sociable Twins, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s official description also mentions its ability to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite like a socially-savvy Twins.
The Crab – Super Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for often becoming wrapped up in their emotions. According to the official info, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully control,” which seems a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. It is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the fact that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being too glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected throughout this creature's entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how people are emotionally by their pulse. Always empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and striving to keep the peace, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Super Audino's skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about others.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio adores karma and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius personally, the amount of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly small jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Super Form, its description even notes how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can think of.
Capricorn – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who tends to always believe they’re right. The thing is, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Water Bearer is possibly the non-flame placement that is closest to a fire sign – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
