Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The renowned industry figure died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and all those touched by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
